He was baptized at an early age at Assumption Catholic Church. The Wesley Family moved to Los Angeles, California for 5 years where he started school at Ascot Avenue Elementary School. The family returned to Cincinnati, where Rick finished elementary, junior high, and attended Purcell and Withrow High Schools. He was a boy scout and played baseball and basketball as a young man. During his life, Rick held several jobs. He worked at Hyde Park Country Club as a jack of all trades. He enjoyed collecting, buying, and selling any and everything, and parlayed his talent into operating a thrift store in Louisville, Kentucky. Rick was a longtime member of the House of Joy where over the most recent few years he served as an usher. Rick cherished his church home and church family. Some of Rick’s favorite things were: his faith in God, family and friends, fellow-shipping, reading, history, current events, being an activist, helping however he could, traveling, music, talking, texting, walking, comfortable and stylish shoes, watches, and good food! Remember Rick for his trademark attributes: kindness, good heart, passion, wit, wisdom, support, loyalty, and unwavering convictions. He had a warm personality and a brotherhood and sisterhood from all walks of life that spanned the country. Rick was a servant for the Lord and a warrior in HIS Army. Rick leaves to cherish his memory: sister, Mary Jo (Barry) Williams; goddaughter, Edith “Edie” Adams Pope; cousin, Robert “Bobby” Burns. Rick and Mary Jo were blessed for a lifetime with the love and nurturing of the Rodean Sr. (deceased) and Beverly Frazier Family with siblings: Rodean “Poo”, Jr. (Pamela), Antonia “Mimi” Jones, Adreannia “Andi” Frazier, and Brian “Bam” Frazier (deceased).
