Robert L. Alspaugh

August 12, 1947 — August 2, 2022

Robert L. Alspaugh, 74, of Springfield, Ohio passed away in his home Tuesday, August 2, 2022. Bob was born in Springfield on August 12, 1947 to Robert S. and Betty L. (Shelton) Alspaugh. He grew up with a paper route, bowling at Lagonda Lanes, playing tetherball and 50's and 60's records for "block parties" in "Edwardsville", and pitching for the Springfield North High School baseball team. Later he also enjoyed playing golf and entertaining his friends with non-stop humor. Shortly after he graduated in 1965, Bob married his one and only true love, Julie E. French, in June 1967. Bob had his own plumbing business until 2021 when he retired. He dedicated his whole life to faithfully serving Jehovah in 1969 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Bob served as a humble, hard-working elder and has been in the full-time ministry since 2007. He loved his work so much that he continued to share the Kingdom Message until the end of his life. Bob also used his plumbing skills on various Kingdom Hall and RBC and LDC projects in Ohio and Warwick, New York. Bob Alspaugh leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Julie Alspaugh; son, Robert T. Alspaugh. They were second parents to Tylor (Emily) Reier and Reece (Karina) Reier with grandchildren: Alledra, Lance, Baily, and Elody Reier. He is also survived by his sisters, Judy Cox, Mary Hopkins, and Cindy (Bob) Gross; and a host of nieces, nephews, and numerous lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Mike Burckholter presiding, located at 1601 Innisfallen Avenue, Springfield, Ohio 45506. The family will receive guests starting at 1:00 p.m. Services will also be held via Zoom: Meeting ID: 878 7602 8431 Passcode: 473704 Arrangements entrusted to the caring hands of KINLEY Funeral Home.
