Ronald Eugene Smith

Ronald Eugene Smith, 76, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. Ronald was born on January 16, 1942 in Urbana, Ohio. He was the only child to the late Harold Smith and Marjorie (Stuthard) Smith. Ronald is survived by his three children born during his first marriage to Sandra Ralston Makemson, which include Elizabeth (Steve) Wolf and Peter Smith. He is also survived by four grandchildren, which include Brooke Studebaker, Lauren Dunfee, and Kaden Smith; in addition to two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Jonathon Rudy. During Ronalds second marriage to Emily Smith, he was able to build a special bond with Emilys daughter, Mindy Wells; as well as, Mindys children, Kayla Wells and Raven Brown. Ronald was known to many as "Smitty" and was a holder of many useless facts, jokes, and had a zest for making people laugh. In his younger days he was an avid tennis player, loved to be outdoors, and enjoyed catching rays, even on the coldest days, if the sun was out. His working career was entirely at Howard Bond Paper Mill starting at age 16 until retirement. We hope that all the lives he has touched keep their fondest memories with him alive in their hearts.
