Roy D. "Taz" Scott, Jr., 32, of Springfield, Ohio entered eternal rest unexpectedly Friday, December 4, 2020, in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born Friday, May 6, 1988, in Springfield, the son of Juanita Embry and Roy Scott, Sr. He attended South High School where he wore #22, played the sport that he loved "basketball" and graduated in 2006. RJ was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Michigan Wolverines, and LA Lakers fan. RJ, known as Taz, Bikitz, JusTune, and Tune, will be sadly missed by everyone he came in contact with because this "comedian" never met a stranger. He could brighten anyone's day. RJ leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Juanita Embry; and loving step-father who raised him for 32 years, Duane Embry; father, Roy D. Scott, Sr.; children, Jayce A. Scott and Jay'lynn M. Scott; sisters, Erika (James) Scott and Daysha Scott; grandmother, Doris Portis; aunts and uncles, Richard (Kaci) Portis, Steven Portis, Shelly (Michael, Sr.) Dearmond and Tawana Walker all of Springfield, Ohio; Charles Scott, Ronnie Scott, Anthony Scott, and Geno Scott all of Springfield, Ohio, Eric Walker of Cedarville, Ohio, Jeff Walker of Fairborn, Ohio, Junior Walker of Columbus, Ohio, Norris (Dawn) Walker of Madison, Alabama, and Anthony Walker, Sr. of Springfield, Ohio; aunts, Diane (Donald) Jeffrey of Boston, Massachusetts, Beth Scott, Kim Scott; great-aunts and great-uncles, Robert "Bobby" Mims, Dorothy Trollinger, Odessa Walker, Rose Walker, and Willa Mae Garrison all of Springfield, Ohio; step-daughter, Audree Reid; godmothers, Tonya Taylor-Givens and Regina Wilson all of Springfield, Ohio; step-grandmother, Roberta Walker of Springfield, Ohio; also dear to RJ's heart, Ray and Jocelyn West, and Jeffrey Strodes, Jr.; and a host of special cousins and friends who he loved unconditionally. He was preceded in death by his son, Carson Scott; maternal grandfather; paternal grandparents; maternal and paternal great-grandparents; and a host of uncles and maternal aunt. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Greater Grace Temple, 380 West Leffel Lane, Springfield, Ohio 45506. Repass to follow at Quality Inn, 383 East Leffel Lane, Springfield, Ohio 45505. Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020 in Ferncliff Cemetery.
