Roy Steven Parks

Roy Steven Parks, 72, of Springfield, Ohio departed this life on Saturday, December 30, 2023. He was born July 16, 1951, to the union of Justice Leroy, Sr., and Josephine (Threats) Parks.

After completing high school, Roy was inducted into the United States Army. After returning home, he worked numerous jobs including Os Kelly Co., Robbins & Myers Inc., and Wittenberg College.

Roy enjoyed all manner of sports, which football was his favorite. He played semi-football with the Sun Devils until the league ended. All the while entertaining the thought of being a walk-on for his favorite team the L.A. Rams. After attending the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research (IDMR) and returning several times, confirming within himself that the truth was taught there. He learned more about his creator at the bible class than anywhere else. The true understanding of Yahweh's plan of salvation for mankind.

Roy leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved daughter, Tonya Dunaway of San Antonio, Texas, and grandchildren: Sloane Joseph, Kiana Joseph and her husband Justin, and Quentin Washington; beloved daughter, Edjewa Adams of San Antonio, Texas, and grandchildren: Jasiri Parks, Honora Parks, and Javon Adams; and beloved daughter, Kristi Scott of Columbus, Ohio, and grandson, Keith Scott; brothers, Clifford L. (Elaine) Parks, and Joseph L. (Pearla) Parks; sister, Katherine Parks all of Springfield, Ohio; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; and his brother, Justice Parks, Jr.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2024 in the Kinley Funeral Home Chapel, 1307 East High Street, Springfield, Ohio 45505.
