Sadie Mae Chilton Adams, 92, of Springfield, OH passed away Friday, May 11, 2018. She was born May 6, 1926 in Letcher County, KY, the daughter of the late Harvey and Rosetta Chilton. She was an employee at Wren's, JC Penney and Hills Dept. Stores for many years. She enjoyed making flowers for her Sunday hats and also made flowers for Highlight and Trydestone Baptist Church. Sadie was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for 49 years. She was fondly called 'Harvett' by her three nephews, Charles, 'Butch' and Ceasar Chilton. Sadie is survived by her brother, Rev. Frank (Electra) Chilton of Lima, OH; her devoted daughter, Mae Walker of Springfield, OH; grandsons, Robert (April) Wheat of Cincinnati, OH, Martin Callahan and Ahmad (Kendra) Hickman of Springfield, OH; granddaughters, Deanna (Darren) Davis of Springfield, OH, Monica (Tom) Pringle of Newport News, VA, Adrianne (Amus) Rose of Hartsville, SC; eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends, Maggie Stephens, Shirley Brown, The Voices of Thunder and her entire church family. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lois Adams-Hickman; brothers, Robert, Thomas, Douglas, James, Eugene and Edward Chilton. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. in Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Interment at Ferncliff Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Jerry W. Kinley Funeral Home.
