Sandra E. "Red" Hicks (Taylor), 60, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023. She was born in Cincinnati on June 3, 1962 to the union of Shirley (Carter) and Drury Taylor. Sandy was the sixth of eight children (4 brothers and 3 sisters).
She received her elementary education in the Cincinnati Catholic School system - St. Leo. Sandy continued her high school education at Cincinnati Academy of Math and Science (currently Woodward High School). She received her GED and was a certified nurse aide. Sandy worked at several nursing facilities throughout the Greater Cincinnati Area. She loved listening to music, dancing, and cooking. Sandy enjoyed spending time with her family at cookouts and during the holidays. She was always the life of the party. Her presence during those times will be greatly missed.
Sandy leaves to cherish her memory: three brothers, William Taylor, Michael Taylor, and Scott Taylor; two sisters, Sharon Webb, and Fatima Anderson (Trever); seven children: Gary Hicks (Keisha), Dante Hicks, Antione Hicks, Marcus Hicks, Shante Hicks, Raven Hill, and Larry Johnson Jr.; 19 grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Greg Taylor; sister, Terri Taylor; and life partner, Larry Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral service at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023 at James Temple Church of God in Christ (Annex Chapel), 1119 Lincoln Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Bernard Church Annex, 745 Derby Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
