Sarnelia Michelle Canady-Johnson, 58, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 31, 1960 to the union of Joe Louis Canady, Sr. and Priscilla Canady. She grew up in Cincinnati and attended Cincinnati Public Schools. 'Shell', as we all knew her, accepted Christ at an early age at Providence Baptist Church on Dayton Street in Cincinnati, Ohio. Over the years Shell was employed at several different factories, but her last employment was with Children's Hospital. Shell was the life of the party. She lived her best life and was loved by everyone she touched and came in contact with. Shell was very comical and beautiful, always dancing and trying to sing, while never knowing most of the words to the songs. She loved crazy big hair styles and colorful wigs. Shell was full of life!!! She always said, 'Life is a party, so live your life to the fullest'. A few of her other sayings were, 'I wish somebody would', 'I'll make you famous', 'Ya'll better get somewhere', and 'I'm trying to tell you'. She also loved playing cards (Tunk, Spades and 5,000) and a little gambling. Shell was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Johnson. She was a devoted mother and leaves to mourn and cherish her precious memories: special friend, Calvin Holt; three children, Edward Maurice Bradley (Timisha), Alexis Canady (Alfonzo), and Jamall Johnson; loving parents, Joe L. Canady, Sr. and Priscilla Canady; five grandchildren, Bre'Asia, Taleeya, Maurijah, Armoni, and EJ (Edward Jr.); five siblings, Varnita Ann Canady (deceased), Sabrina Lynn Spivey, Joe Louis Canady, Jr. (Angela), Anthony Wayne Canady, and Dorothy Canady-Drummer (Timothy); six nieces and nephews, Wykeitha (Steve), Quentin, Keisha, Robert Ladden, Jr. (deceased), Natasha (Andrae, Sr.) and Brittany; god-daughter, Adrianna Steele; best friends, Eliza Steele, Rita Miller (deceased), and Latonia Shina Campbell (deceased); and a host of aunts, uncles, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
