Shelbey Wayne Hicks, 52, of New Carlisle, Ohio went to Heaven on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. He was born July 4, 1967 to the late Walter and Vivan (Sellers) Hicks. He was a lifetime resident of New Carlisle and attended the New Carlisle Schools. Shelbey enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Shelbey leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Joshua (Rachelle) Smith, Brittany (Michael)Burgess, and Zachary (Mirah) Hicks; grandchildren he loved so dearly, Zoey, Zayden, Austin, Gaven and Asher; sisters, Susan Gilbert, Gayle (Jack) Ponder, Violet Hicks and Deronda (Sam) Carmacks, girlfriend, Heidi VanHoose and her daughter Leah; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clay Hicks; and brother-in-law, Ralph Gilbert. A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
