Shirley Ann (Nee Thomas) Grady, 80, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. She was born on November 15, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the union of the late Robert James Thomas of Kentucky and Lela Francis (Nee Adail) Thomas of Tennessee. Shirley Ann was raised in Addyston, Ohio and later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where she met and married Joe Louis Grady, Sr. They were married in 1963 and to their union two children were born, Rebecca (Nee Grady) Williams and Joe Louis Grady, Jr. Shirley had two children from a previous relationship, Rosalyn Marie Thomas and Rodney Anthony Thomas. Shirley worked at Kenner Toy. She also worked as a bartender at local establishments. She enjoyed spending time with family especially her grandchildren. She devoted her life to her family by nurturing, teaching, guiding and being a positive role model. She taught all her grandkids how to pray, made sure they all knew about God and had them all attend her family Thomas Church in Addyston, Ohio, where they were all baptized. Shirley was a spiritual leader and peacemaker. She was an unselfish person and was a strong proud woman that would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Shirley also loved animals. She leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Rebecca Williams and Rosalyn Thomas; son, Joe Louis Grady, Jr.; two sisters, Cathy and Evelyn Phoenix; brother, Vernon Thomas; then grandchildren, Michael Thomas, Reginald Grady, William Grady, Lamarlo Thomas, Brian Grady, Brandon Grady, Amber Grady, Jason Thomas, Johneesha Glass, and Raelynn; 20 greatgrandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Anthony Thomas; sisters, Dora Holmes, Pam, Lula, Gloria, Pat, Caroline; brothers, Greg Thomas, Jimmy Thomas and Frankie Thomas. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at James Temple Church of God in Christ (Annex Chapel), 1119 Lincoln Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
