Stephen N. Jackson, Sr.

Stephen Nelson Jackson, Sr., 65, of Cincinnati, Ohio departed this life Thursday, April 8, 2021. He was born May 21, 1955 in Patterson, New Jersey and moved to Cincinnati at the age of 5 when he was blessed to be adopted by the late Theodore and Minnie Jackson. His early education was in Cincinnati Public Schools. Stephen went to Hughes High School before enrolling into the United States Army. After leaving the Army he worked at NASA in Huntsville, Alabama as a groundskeeper. Stephen later worked in security at Alabama A & M before moving back to Cincinnati. He also did janitorial work at various jobs. Stephen had two children, Kevin Brown and Mario Brown, who preceded him in death. He married his first wife, Laressa Allen, and to this union Stephen Jr., Philip, Tekoa, and John Paul were born. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Stephen's family and close friends affectionately called him “OG Steve” and “Red”. He loved listening to music (gospel, old school R&B and rap). Stephen's favorite pastime was fishing and shopping. He was always dressed to impress. At an early age Stephen accepted Christ. He loved witnessing for God and was always doing the Lord’s work. When Stephen moved to Florida, he joined The Center of Manifestation under the leadership of Apostle Mark T. Jones. There he was an active member of the Evangelistic Team. Stephen was dedicated to winning souls for God. He later joined Dominion and Power Worship under the leadership of Celeste D. Chiles. There he was ordained as a minister. After moving back to Cincinnati, Stephen joined Fresh Anointing Impact under the leadership of Jonathan Dunn. There he ministered to the youth. Later joining House of Joy under the leadership of Bishop Todd O’Neal, where he faithfully served until his health failed. He met and married Pamela Daniels in 2008. Together they loved to worship and minister together. They were always doing street ministry in Tampa, Florida and they traveled together spreading the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Stephen leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Pamela; children: Stephen Jackson, Jr., Philip Jackson, Tekoa Jackson, John Paul Jackson, Brandon Daniels (CaTia), Reginald Brazzile, Imani Brazzile, and Iyanna Brazzile; grandchildren: Na’talia Jackson, Raydale Smith, John Paul Jackson, Jr., Chantele Smith, Marquui Jackson, Briayla Smith, Jayden Jackson, Josiah Smith, Bailey Jackson, Philip Jackson, Jr., and Solomon Daniels; three brothers-in-law, Jerome Daniels, Randall Daniels, and Steven (Trina) Daniels; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at House of Joy Christian Church, 3220 Central Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45225. Followed by United States Army Military Honors. Arrangements entrusted to the care of KINLEY Funeral Home.
