Stephen T. Hale, 69, of Dayton, Ohio passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022. He was born to Philip and Eileen Hale on November 16, 1952. He joined the Army in 1971, where he was part of the ASA (Army Security Agency) and an illustrator overseas in Germany. Upon Stephen's return to the States, he began his career as a sheriffs deputy in Greene County and spent his life making a difference through policing. Stephen was an amazing artist and always had the best answers even when you did not ask the smartest questions. He told stories of murder and mayhem to keep you safe and aware of the evil that consists in this world. Stephen was full of true stories that would scare you and stories of justice being served from his help. He was always the smartest man in the room even till the end. He will be missed dearly. Stephen leaves to cherish his memory: his three adult children, Steve Hale, Jr. of Ohio, Christopher Hale of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Sarah Daniel of Scottsdale, Arizona; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his siblings: Joseph and Lisa Hale of Chapmanville, West Virginia, Patricia Whilding of Newark, Ohio, Cynthia Hale and Gary Heath of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and James and Lisa Hale of Xenia, Ohio; his mother, Eileen Hale of Bellefontaine, Ohio; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Philip E. Hale; brother, Jon M. Hale; and nephew, Justin Hale McKeehan. At the request of the family, no funeral ceremony will be held. In place of flowers, please donate in Stephen’s name to the Dayton VA for their care of him in the past several years and to help other veterans in need.
