Terrence Roland, 56, of Cincinnati, Ohio went on to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 19, 2020. He was born September 10, 1963 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Kenneth Roland and Ethel Roland (Simpson). At a very young age he discovered a love for music. Terrence attended Withrow High school where he played the trombone in the band. He later joined a group of friends (brothers) who created a group called “The Hitt Band”. They continued their friendship even into their later years and had a bond that could not be broken. It was in his earlier years that he met his wife, Margaret Roland (Lowe), and an undeniable love grew. He loved her so much that he would ride his bicycle all the way from Madisonville to Milford to pursue her. On August 1, 1987 they tied the knot and from this marriage he became a wonderful father to two daughters: Teaira and Janisha Roland, who he loved unconditionally. At the age of 25 Terrence accepted Christ. He and his wife began pursuing the call of God on their lives and began attending New Life Temple under the leadership of Pastor Ralph Godfrey, Sr., where they were members for 20 years. From this body a seed was planted by a host of vital people into Terrence and Margaret’s life. They joined the praise and worship team and became the overseers of the children’s choir ministry. Later they became overseers of the youth praise team “Remnant”, became Cell group leaders, and started their own Christian singing group that consisted of friends and family called “One-N-Spirit”. Terrence went on to graduate with his Associate’s degree in Audio & Visual Productions where he and Margaret would go on to help other local ministries put together their sound systems and also teach about the importance of praise and worship. Terrence was a man who truly loved to be in the presence of God and enjoyed studying the word of God. He and his wife Margaret would host weekly bible studies in their home where many times their daughter’s friends would attend, but their home was open to anyone who wanted to hear from God. As his love for God and ministry continued to grow, Terrence and Margaret were led by God to become members of Central Assembly of God under the leadership of Pastor Robert and Venus Dothard where they became worship leaders. It was there that God began to use Terrence as a vessel to deliver his word. For a short period of time, Central Assembly of God underwent construction and they began preparing for their new location which later became Peoples West. During the relocation period Terrence and Margaret began temporarily attending Covenant Christian Center. In October 2018 Terrence and Margaret Roland were ordained as pastors under the leadership of Pastor Anthony and Linda Davis, Sr. He went on to profoundly deliver the word of God in a way that made you laugh, but could also be understood and applied by all ages. Terrence is survived and will forever be remembered and cherished by his wife, Margaret Roland; daughters, Teaira and Janisha Roland; and siblings, Greg Simpson (Wanda), Michael Roland, Ricky Simpson, Patricia Simpson, Deborah Rutherford, Glenda Winbush (Dana), Leslie Roland, Jackie Allen (Kenan); and host of other siblings, nieces and nephews. Terrence has a host of relatives and friends that he cared for deeply. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Roland; father, Kenneth Roland; and sister, Brenda Willingham. Terrance will forever be remembered for his vibrant smile, humor, and love for God and his family. His time on earth will be cherished.
