Vanetia Jean Bishop

February 19, 1960 — September 26, 2022

Vanetia Jean (Williams) Bishop, 62, of Springfield, Ohio unexpectedly passed in her home on Monday, September 26, 2022. Jean was born in Springfield on February 19, 1960, to the late James A. Williams and Lorrice (Vance) Williams.

Jean was always the life of the party. There was never a place she could go without running into someone she knew, and she would always stop to speak with every single one. Jean spent her entire life being a hard worker and giving her heart and soul to the ones she loved. The last few years, she gave back to our community by working for Salvation Army ringing the bell during Christmas time. The perfect job for her because she never knew a stranger. Many would even seek Jean out every year to ensure their donated money was only given to her. She always knew how to bring the best out of people. Just one of the many things that made her so wonderful. Although Jean leaving has left the ones, she cherished most, devastated, we know she is reunited with the ones she had already lost; dancing and singing, "Don’t cry for me. Celebrate my homegoing because now I am free. Love, cherish, and enjoy each moment as I have love, cherished, and enjoyed you all. Remember what I have taught you because I will see you again and I will be waiting with open arms."

Jean leaves to cherish her memory: three children, Glen Williams, Anthony Andrews, and Sheri Andrews all of Springfield, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jayden Williams and Miah Andrews both of Springfield, Ohio; Nicole Poole, whom she raised as a daughter giving Jean 3 additional grandchildren to claim: Tatyanna Baccus, Talia Baccus, and Trevaughn Howard all of Springfield, Ohio; the love of her life whom she has cherished for the last 26 years, Keith Lawson, of Springfield, Ohio; three siblings, Wendy (Eddie) Ford of Springfield, Ohio, Keith Vance of Columbus, Ohio, and Penny Williams of Springfield, Ohio; an aunt, Phylliss Isley of Springfield, Ohio; an uncle, Dale Vance of Columbus, Ohio; a godson, Jujuan Faulkner, Jr. of Springfield, Ohio; endless nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many many friends.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her grandfather, Charles Vance, Sr.; grandmother, Mary Allen Vance; brother, James A. Williams, Jr.; and sister, Kathy Williams.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022 in El Bethel Temple, 2049 Clifton Ave, Springfield, Ohio 45505. Interment: Ferncliff Cemetery. Repast: 1935 S. Yellow Springs St., Springfield, Ohio 45506.
