Vickie L. Mathis, 59, passed away in her home on Sunday, December 30, 2018 due to her extended illnesses. She was born in January 1959 in Dayton, Ohio to Cora and William Fugate, who preceded her in death. She was married twice. Her first marriage was to Joseph W. Woehler together they had two children and spent 17 years together. Her second husband was Keith Crosby Mathis. They lived in Florida and shared 10 years together. Her love for people was extraordinary, and she made an impact on everyone she met. She loved spending time with her family, friends, her children, and her grandchildren. Some of her favorite things were flowers, butterflies, the mountains, the beach at night, owls, houseplants, Doritos and so much more. She had many jobs that fulfilled her, but the job that she was most passionate about was at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida where she was a critical care equipment tech. Vickie is survived by two children: daughter, Danielle (Bobby) Woehler; son, Dustin Woehler; four grandchildren, Logan Ware, Isaiah Lawrence, Justuis Lawrence, and Hayden Woehler; sister, Trena Alspaugh; one niece and three nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brother, David Fugate; his wife, Maria Fugate, and a special cousin, Tonya Tallent. A Celebration of Life will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2019 in the New City Church Dayton, 4800 North Dixie Drive, Dayton, Ohio 45414. Final arrangements entrusted to the care of the Jerry W. Kinley Funeral Home.
