Walter James Gill, 68, of Cincinnati, Ohio departed his earthly life Monday, May 24, 2021. He was born on August 11, 1952 to Mary Bell and Andrew Lee Gill (deceased). He was a native of Tilton County, Alabama. Walter was the oldest son of eight children. He was a graduate of Hughes High school and attended The University of Cincinnati. Walter served in the Army. He gave his life to the Lord and was a member of New Nazarene Baptist Church. For many years, Walter worked side-by-side with his father doing construction. He enjoyed the simplest pleasures in life, which brought him great joy. Walter loved watching Cowboy and Perry Mason shows. He loved playing chess and spending time with his family and friends. Walter was loved and truly will be missed. Walter leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Mary B. Gill; wife, Gwendolyn Gill; siblings, Mary F. Brown (McKinley), Annie Glover, Ida Dixon, Andrew Gill, Wayne Gill, and Andrea Warren; children, Walter J. Gill, Jr., Chystal Gill (Troy), and Vintress Gill; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Lee Gill. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at House of Hope Fellowship Church, 1829 Elm Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. Interment: Vine Street Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of KINLEY Funeral Home.
