William Lewis (Chocolate) Arnold, 76, of Springfield, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on May 23, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Springfield on April 26, 1947 to John Albert Arnold and Helen Marie (Beard) Arnold.
He was a very competitive and athletic as a young man. When in junior high at Keifer, William was the star football player. He graduated from Springfield South High School. William worked at International Harvester and retired from Wright State University. He enjoyed dancing, fishing, watching western movies, and spending time with his family. William was a faithful member of Greater Grace Temple, where he served on the committee Man of Grace. He treasured his family and devoted his life to the Lord and his wife. Chocolate was our rock and will be greatly missed.
William leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Margo (Bush) Arnold of Springfield, Ohio; four children: Cynthia L. Powell, Anthony D. Arnold (Shaunna), Darryl L. Arnold all of Springfield, Ohio, and Marcia Cheatom of Terre Haute, Indiana; special friend, Bishop Ronald L. Logan; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Albert Arnold and Helen Marie (Beard) Arnold; siblings, Vernon Arnold, Johnny Arnold, Richard Arnold, Pam Arnold, and Anita Arnold; and son, Victor L. Arnold.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Greater Grace Temple, 380 W. Leffel Lane, Springfield, Ohio 45506.
