Wyatt Jolan Bates

Wyatt Jolan Bates, 32, departed this life on Thursday, July 18, 2019, doing what he loved: driving. He was born February 27, 1987 to Johnny and Mary Harrison Bates of Portland. He attended Jay County Schools and enjoyed the high school drags in the old green farm truck. Wyatt leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, Johnny and Mary Harrison Bates of Portland; sister, Johnnie Bates (Rob Bolinger) of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother, Richard Bates of Portland: two beloved nephews, Jeremiah Loper of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Morgan Bates of Portland; special niece, Kay'tee Bryant (Aaron) of Cleveland, Ohio; grandmother, Opal Williamson of Bryant; special cousin, Kyla Hall of Ridgeville; best friend, Matt Hudson of Portland; and an abundance of cherished uncles, aunts, and cousins from an extended family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on September 14, 2019 at the Farmland Conservation Club, 1464 N 500 W, Winchester, Indiana 47394 with repast to follow.
